Halloween Dress Up Ideas

It's getting closer and closer to the final day that we will roll out the free baths for any pet coming in with a Halloween costume. No bandannas this year masquerading as costumes either. ^_^ If you are having trouble coming up with an idea check out this link on "You Tube". Pretty innovative and funny stuff but I know you can do better. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH3xVUFOxy4&feature=email

Happy Halloween!!

Halloween Dress-Up At Gentle Care

Every year we celebrate Halloween for all of our canine and feline friends. Although, as a general rule, I am opposed to putting clothes on animals I make an exception at this time of year. :)
Bring your pet in wearing his or her favorite Halloween costume and enjoy a free bath - anytime during the month of October 2008! (The bath is for your pet of course)
The pet bath can be done either the day of your visit or you can choose a gift certificate for a bath on another day of your choice.
We can't wait to see everyone's favorite ghouls, ghosts, and little goblins!
A picture will be taken and we'll post them all on Facebook for you to share! If you are not a Facebook member don't worry, we'll put them up on PhotoBucket and I'll provide a link in another blog. Happy Halloween to everyone.
Sincerely,
Dr. Holman

FlyBall

Recently one of our Technicians here at Gentle Care Animal Hospital, Erin R., participated in a flyball tournament at the NC State Fairgrounds. She competes in a Dog Gone Fast team based out of Pet Behavior Help in Chapel Hill. The team’s website is being updated but you can still visit it at www.flyballdogs.com

Erin R. has been involved in flyball for approximately the last 5 years. Dylan, a 6 year old Australian Shepherd Mix, was her first partner in flyball (see photo below). They are still actively competing. Fly and Sprite are the newest editions to her family, both Shetland Sheepdogs, are still in the straining phase.

Flyball is a fun way to interact with your pet and people without having to worry about breed, form, or standards. Flyball is open to anyone or any dog with the desire to learn, get lots of treats, and bond with each other.

I recently took a beginner class at Pet Behavior Help with my 5 ½ year old Boston terrier, Melbourne. We had a blast and I totally recommend it to anyone! There are 2 upcoming NAFA tournaments. Go Dog Go is hosting one in Hillsborough on the weekend of October 25th and 26th and Hairier Jump Jets is hosting one in Courtland, VA.

Sincerely,
Amy G.
